Review of The Shootist (1976) by Aaron H — 28 Feb 2013
The Duke's last film, as he goes out with a bang (literally!). And while the ending is somewhat sad and predictable, it's enough to get one thinking about which direction he will go with his life, for better or for worse, as the breed of the gunslingers begins to die off.
John Wayne couldn't have picked a better ending for himself, as the film relates to his real-life situation, concerning his health.
