Review of The Searchers (1956) by Doug F — 15 May 2009
I guess the main question to observe is John Wayne's motivation for obsessing over the search for his niece. Maybe that's the point of the film, maybe not. Just look at how beautiful the film looks.
This is the first John Wayne film I've watched and am oddly intrigued by him. Not my favorite western but it still managed to keep me enthralled by its story and characters all trekking, emotionally and physically, to find this one girl.
