Review of The Searchers (1956) by Attilio G — 22 Dec 2018
Great western, shows the pain reaction from the perspective of a man of the 1880s era to the kidnaping of two young individuals by people from a different culture, considered to belong to a lower civilized society.
The hurt felt by the relatives of the kidnapped individuals and the recognition that they may be forever changed and incapable of rejoining their families due to the treatment by the kidnappers. It shows the search and eventual vengeance by the violated families against those who perpetuated the kidnapping.
This movie reflects the reality of the pain experienced by the early settlers in light of the violence perpetuated by members of a different culture. The movie demonstrates the early sense of indignation giving rise to racial resentment in early America.
