Anyone who knows me knows I love me a good John Wayne movie and this is probably my favorite of them all. This is maybe his best and also one of his most understated performances. Wayne was larger than life and could dominate the screen by just standing still and being silent while on screen, but his performance here allows other performers to shine as well.
Still to this day one of the great American films.
