Review of The Mortal Storm (1940) by Dave J — 26 Feb 2012
This movie came out while the war was still in progress and had the courage to say at least *some* of what was going on. People being persecuted and even killed because they disagreed with the politics of the moment- "non-Aryans" being sent to camps.
I think that this movie is more than just a propaganda film- it presents (in a soften Hollywood way) some serious issues of that time. I think all the performances are good and the story, albeit perhaps watered down with the a love story in there, is very good.
As Martin said in the movie, "I think peace is better than war.".
