Everythings NOT Awesum ... the song says it all .. what a let down after the great first lego movie. The first lego movie had jokes for adults and kids of all ages, when I saw the Lego Movie 2 with my kids almost no one laughed.
The occasional smile here and there at some pop culture cliches. The story is disjointed and the music forced, it just doesn't gel like the first movie. Dan & Kevin Hageman were writers on the first movie and it seems they were missed in the lego movie 2.
Like many Hollywood movies lately it had the required man hating feminist themes and Mary Sue female characters. The first movie left many possibilities to give the second movie huge potential but the whole move had a close enough is good enough vibe .
.. really not a lot to recommend here ... people actually walked out of the showing we went to ... if your children are under 5 perhaps it will be OK ...
