Review of The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (2019) by Afm185 — 21 Jun 2020
See I was under the impression it wasn’t that good. That’s a straight up lie. This is almost on the level of the first movie easily, if not just as good. It’s not perfect or anything, but I really enjoyed every moment of it.
I really love the new characters for real they’re all great. The creativity here is on the level of the last movie too, like I thought the whole topic of it all being connected to the sister would be stupid, but it works so damn well.
Even the outside of the actual LEGO world stuff was really well done. I didn’t like it so much in the last movie, and they’re still my least favorite parts because they just aren’t as good and I don’t think anyone would argue that, but since they established the whole thing in the last movie it was completely necessary for this one.
The story is (I think) better than the last one actually. Like seeing what would happen actually kept me super engaged up until a certain point just because it became predictable, which isn’t even such a bad thing, because it was just as good after then, I just knew what would happen.
Also I think it made me laugh just as much as the last one if not more. It’s actually really funny at times. Honestly enjoyed this movie so much. The voice acting is fantastic through and through, and I loved all the cameos and actors whose voices I recognized.
Oh and obviously the animation is some of my favorite of any style period. One small thing, the credits are some of my favorite ever. It’s cool. The whole thing is really rewatchable too, which is great.
It’s not a masterpiece or anything but I kinda love it.
