Review of The Lady Vanishes (1938) by April V — 18 Sep 2013
Classic Hitchcock that takes a while to get off its feet during the prologue in the hotel but once the ball (and the train) gets rolling, it is a classic whodunnit that is a nice precursor to many of Hitchcock's themes of mental illness he kept pursuing in later efforts (marnie, vertigo etc.
). Great performances and great supporting actors. Already has a healthy helping of black humour. The showdown is a tad lame and predictable but still a classic nonetheless.
