Review of The Lady Vanishes (1938) by Ed B — 21 Sep 2014
The Lady Vanishes is the last British film from the legendary Alfred Hitchcock. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this one, being one of Hitchcock's earlier works I didn't expect much. The first fifteen minutes or so is a little slow, but when the plot kicks in, The Lady Vanishes remains engaging throughout boasting romance, comedy, action, suspense and mystery underneath a simple premise that forces viewers to think and solve it's puzzle.
Part psychological and part political thriller, The Lady Vanishes is a twisty, wonderfully acted and intriguing little gem.
