A club owner whose gambling addiction could cost him his club agrees to clearing his debt by killing a chinese bookie. Cassavetes sets out to destroy the barriers set up by the conventionalities of the thriller and the crime genres in this influential film that once again shows his own unique and revolutionary gritty style.
Ben Gazzara delivers a great performance as the club owner, and some scenes are truly memorable.
