Review of The Golden Compass (2007) by Trystan D — 17 Apr 2011
A decent adaption worthy of the praise which it has been denied by critics. Weitz does a fantastic job of potraying the Magesterium as evil and throws in good plot loops to lessen the story's length e.
G. Serafina visiting Lyra instead of Kaisa. Brilliant visual effects create some of the best fight scenes and the film's casting perfect, giving many opportunites for british talent to show what their capable of e.
G. Jim Carter as John Faa. Spoilt somewhat by it's abrupt ending, leaving out what could of been a brilliant climax from the book, this golden experience is nonethless forgiven for such faults.
