Review of Venus (1990) by Trystan D — 17 Apr 2011
My favourite film opening with Maurice and Ian exchanging pills. O'Toole gives testimony to the fact that older talent is still as powerful as the young, while Phillips drops the "Hello" gag to create a much more memorable character.
Spoilt only by some miner weaknesses in the script and Whittaker's over chavinees (at times) such errors are forgiven by the effective performances of the elder leads.
