Review of 3:10 to Yuma (2007) by Trystan D — 04 May 2014
One of the best gun-slinging Westerns I've seen in years, with powerful performances by its leads. Bale potrays perfectly a man at the end of his tether while Crowe playing one of the meanest son's of b****** in western history brings undeniable sympathy and charm to his character.
His character says in the film that his gun carries a curse, maybe this empathy is the curse he was referring to. The film's only weakness, perhaps some errors in the script: some retro dialogue and cheesy moments bring it down a little.
But such errors are forgiven by the journey of its two main characters, as two total opposites develop a line of honour and respect for each other.
