Review of The Enforcer (1976) by Jason D — 04 May 2009
The third entry in the Dirty Harry franchise, The Enforcer, is easily the worst of them all (but of course, it's the cursed third entry, to which most have never been good). Here we see Dirty Harry Callahan himself, Clint Eastwood, almost hamming up this character, allowing him to be too silly in many points of the film.
It's absurdity is only heightened when the theme of gender discrimination is prominent, trying to convey some kind of social commentary which is completely destroyed when the filmmakers have Tyne Daly (Harry's latest partner) be the butt of all sorts of bumbling and comic relief because of her gender.
Also, the villains are pussy cats compared to the first one's Scorpio killer and the band of killer cops that graced the second one, not to mention the bad acting is at it's highest in this film, BUT the deaths are still pretty graphic and brutal at times, which made the film enjoyable.
Yeah, this is certainly not the best one but still worth a watch nonetheless.
