Like many movies about the holocaust, this film was harrowing and at times bleak. The story tells of a group of Jewish prisoners assembled to forge money for the Nazi war effort. The direction and acting is superb and the realism captured will take your breath away.
Compelling, riveting and certainly not for the faint of heart. The film did have a look, sound and feel that raised it above the content to reach a whole other level of film craft. Definitely deserved the Oscar.
