Review of The Counterfeiters (2007) by James C — 01 Jul 2012
I had put off watching this film for years because, frankly, I am tired of watching movies about the Holocaust. However, I couldn't put it off much longer, especially after reading some more reviews of this.
My concerns with the film were justified, as I felt helpless for the Jews in the camps, and my frustrations grew as the film went on. However, I loved the 2 divergent philosophies of the detainees in how to survive the virtually impossible situation.
I thought it was realistically told and presented. I can't say I was glad I saw it since it gives me pause to think that this barbaric behavior was only 70 years ago, but it was a great piece of history.
