Review of The Counterfeiters (2007) by James M — 08 Sep 2011
I always feel intimidated when an Oscar nominated film fails to move me. "The Counterfeiters" felt and looked cheaply made; like some made-for-TV movie. I also struggled with the structure of the story and how it never seems to change it's tone or pace.
The actors were a little unengaging but are believable enough, plus there are some truly striking moments, especially from August Diehl and the main protagonist, Karl Markovics.
