Review of The Big Chill (1983) by Nelson P — 28 Nov 2010
The ultimate white movie. Meaning that it's the greatest showcase of the white culture. For it being an ensemble, the whole cast is pretty spread out evenly and you never feel the focus of the movie is on one person.
The whole cast is great and this is the movie that rally highlighted the brilliance of each individuals talents. It's story is a little sappy in the beginning, but when the actually plot begin 30 minutes in, the chemistry and realistic relationships of the cast completely annihilate any qualms I had with the first part of the movie.
Its story is amazing because basically everyone can relate to it, unless they've never dealt with the death of a close one.
