Review of The Big Chill (1983) by Ken S — 02 Sep 2014
A group of former college students from the free love and days of the revolution 60s are reunited when their friend commits suicide, and they must come to terms with their friend's death and who they've become in the years that have passed.
They are no longer the hippies they once were, now they are more jaded and cynical adults of the 80s. It is a decent movie, very much of the decade in which it was produced...but it is kind of corny and doesn't ever feel to real or genuine.
I thought it was okay, but I wasn't terribly impressed. I think it definitely could've been more effective.
