Perfect snapshot of America immediately after World War II, depicting the uncertainty and alienation of returning vets and their families. To quote Buffy: "The battle's done, and we kinda won, so we sound our victory cheer...where do we go from here?".
Pity poor Dana Andrews, having to choose between Virginia Mayo and Teresa Wright. It's no contest - Mayo may look hotter in a swimsuit, but Wright is the perfect postwar wife. In ten years she'll be Donna Reed.
