Review of Starship Troopers (1997) by Jv A — 17 Feb 2012
Starship Troopers is about a group of teens who join a futuristic army in order to fight gigantic space insects. This Paul Verhoeven effort, which glibly lampoons World War II-era propaganda films, features laughably wooden acting and some dated CGI effects.
Still, the action is pure blockbuster fun and the gore is reminiscent of Robocop and Total Recall. Overall, Starship Troopers makes for a good movie night if you're into this sort of thing.
