Review of Starship Troopers (1997) by Tonto — 04 Jul 2020
Starship Troopers is the tongue-in-cheek sci-fi adventure set in a 23rd century, militaristic society in which the United Federation of Earth is at war with the "Bugs", an arachnid, hostile species half a century away who humanity scapegoats for launching meteors at Earth.
We follow a young soldier Johnny Rico and his friends as they wage war with the Bugs. The movie is fun and its visuals are top-notch. It also does a good job satirizing fascistic attitudes. Directed by Paul Verhoen of Robocop and Total Recall.
