Review of Spider-Man 2 (2004) by Emma P — 22 Apr 2015
By far the best Spider-Man and one of the best Comic Book movies to date. It belongs in that top tier with Superman, The Dark Knight, The Avengers, Iron Man and X2. I love this movie so much. Doc Ock was treated with respect by casting the extremely talented Alfred Molina.
I could write a book on why I love it is so good, but I'll just this: Train Scene. God, this movie is so so so so GOOD!!!! Every time I watch, I find new reasons to love it. The fact that Spidey's enemies, at least his closest and most deadly are always friends, colleagues and people Peter Parker looks up to.
In turn, these Super V's alter egos have the same admiration for Parker. Their hatred for the Web Head might be a bit stronger but at least t there is a respect there. The drama is real, the love is real, the action is fucking real.
OK, so not totally real, there's CG involved but the action scenes are spectacular. Everything they get wrong in the 3rd flick, they do the exact opposite here. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate 3 as much as some but I do admit it to having flaws.
This one is nearly flawless. Did I mention that Train Scene!?!
