Review of Spartacus (1960) by Adam Z — 19 May 2008
The Dalton Trumbo script is so un-Kubrickian that it makes you gape at the screen (you can almost sense him behind the camera CRYING out to give the story a touch of dehuminization elements!), but there's nothing quite like seeing Olivier, Ustinov and Laughton arguing with each other.
Of course, that's what movies are all about, right?
