Review of Spartacus (1960) by Andy S — 22 Dec 2017
Location, location ,location. You can really tell that they scouted low and high to find these amazing places around the world. They're beautiful.
The beginning sequence with the slaves arriving to the palace reminds of the beginning of Skyrim. The lighting in this movie is marvelous. And the tune that plays when Varinia goes into Spartacus' cell, is the same sample used in one of Nujabes' songs. I thought that was really cool.
How absolutely outlandish to see how slaves are bought and then trained to fight just for a couple of rich shit heads to come and demand that they fight each other, when they're not supposed to. Seeing how ruthless Crassus really is when he stabbed the Ethiopian, sent a shiver down my spine. I knew at that moment that he was no good.
