Review of Spartacus (1960) by Carl T — 30 Apr 2016
Not strictly 100% a Kubrick film there is still plenty to enjoy here from the movie that would go on to influence so many others not least 'Gladiator' and 'Braveheart'. The first half is the best, it gets a little bogged down in the second half with protracted drawn out battles.
Douglas simmers throughout though and Olivier tears up the scenery as the boo-hiss villain.
