Review of Silent Hill (2006) by Carlie S — 29 Dec 2012
This desperately wants to be the darker moments of Hellraiser, Akira, Carrie and any number of Japanese supernatural thrillers but falls a little flat; I found myself watching the clock at times instead of what was on-screen.
The netherworld of Silent Hill is eerie enough, although heavy on the CGI and the real world strand of the film doesn't feel conclusive. Not awful by any means, but not great either; the confines of its video game origins probably does all involved a disservice.
