Review of Silent Hill (2006) by John Ross D — 31 Aug 2018
Silent Hill is a stand out game-to-film adaptation movie. Radha Mitchell has done a good job portraying as Rose De Silva, emphasizing the character's courage over chaos, perseverance over uncertainty, sanity over madness and bravery over fear.
The movie has no problem delivering a good story that have deeper layers and symbolism attached within it, almost as superior in quality to its source material. The only noticeable flaw of this film would be the odd dialogues, and the redundant scenes with Sean Bean that contributes no value through the progression of the story.
Polarized opinions will always be present with this film adaptation, but this review will lean towards the opinion that this movie is still considered a good film for the specific reason that it stays true to its source material and it contains a well-thought out screenplay.
