Review of Silence (2017) by Ian G — 13 Jan 2017
This overlong film is tedious and pretentious. I saw it with 7 friends and expectation of a really profound movie experience. I have to say that the universal opinion was that the paper thin story was padded out with prolonged scenes of brutality that, having set the scene initially, became gratuitous.
The ending was a real anticlimax and the final scene before fade to grey was cloying and sentimental. Not one for the classic DVD collection, and I fail to see what the critical acclaim was all about.
