Review of Seven Samurai (1954) by Todd B — 29 Jul 2012
One of the greatest films of all time, and certainly one of the most influential, Kurosawa's 'Seven Samurai' is one of those rare pictures that has no glaring weakness. Performances are excellent across the board, pacing and cinematography are close to perfect, and the set pieces are some of the most memorable in cinematic history.
One doesn't even feel the movie's 3 and 1/2 hour length --- I wish it had been longer. Long live Akira Kurosawa.
