Review of Scarlet Street (1945) by Maria V — 05 Jul 2010
I expect more from Fritz Lang AND Edward G. Robinson. This is a minor entry into the noir cannon you can do without seeing. Joan Bennett overplays the femme fatale Kitty March and Dan Duryea comes off as a caricature.
Edward G. Robinson alone manages to convey the loneliness and pathos of a mercilessly henpecked husband desperate to escape the banality of his life.
