Review of Scarlet Street (1945) by Roger R — 11 Oct 2013
This film deceptively starts out looking a bit like a B Grade thriller - the only star is apparently born middle aged Edward G Robinson. But before long Lang's masterful touch emerges and the film becomes elevated into a classic.
There is something about the ending which suggest studio interference at script stage. Never the less a brilliant film.
