I'm not sure why I find it hard to believe that the man behind M and Metropolis went on to make some stellar film noir, but my brain can't process it. This film is perfectly executed and Edward G.
Robinson is great in the lead. Joan Bennett is also a pleasure to watch. I enjoyed it through and through. You can tell this is the kind of stuff that inspired EC Comics years later!
