Review of Russian Ark (2002) by Charles B — 15 Jun 2007
One of the most remarkable films I've ever seen, showing so much of Russian history in an innovative manner. But it might have lost a star for only dealing with the Revolution and dark times that followed in the abstract - but the suffering of St.
Petersburg under nazi seige for 900 days is handled so sublimely. It is subtle, and sad. And one example of how fantastic a film this is.
