Review of Rush Hour (1941) by Hari A — 23 Aug 2012
Cops, kidnapping, Chinatown, Triad. These four words explain the whole movie. A very foreseeable cop buddy movie which is saved only by Chris Tucker's comic brilliance. Detective Lee (Jackie Chan) and detective Carter (Chris Tucker) work together to save a Chinese consul's daughter from the kidnapper. Thats it.
Chris Tucker's motor-mouth one liners and punches are absolutely hilarious here. Any scene with his presence invokes a smile. Jackie Chan's signature fighting moves make for a decent viewing, but he has better movies with better moves. Nothing special here. An otherwise boring and predictable flick is saved by Tucker's antics.
