Review of Rubber (1936) by Gregory M — 31 Dec 2011
Lt. Chad says, "Life is filled with no reason." If you agree, you might like this pretentious flick about nothing. It has a plot with no reason, its characters' existence has no reason, and the conflict has no reason.
Why would a tire want to blow up a bunny? The only feature of this fiasco that kept me watching was the luscious Roxane Mesquida. She's yummy and she knows it. Just watch the interview with her about the film.
And notice how many critics rave over this nonsense? That speaks volumes about their jaded taste in viewing entertainment. But if you're looking for something to sink your teeth into, there is absolutely no reason to waste your time watching this piece of schlock.
