Review of Rubber (1936) by Tatsuhito K — 22 Aug 2015
One of the most creative, unique, and bizarre experimental films I've seen in quite some time. Why did I like this film? Well, I know I should say "no reason", but that's not how reviewing movies works.
I liked it because it was darkly funny, I liked it because it's a satire on today's film industry and the fact people can watch the process of filmmaking, and I liked it because it was oddly engrossing despite its ridiculous premise (a tire coming to life and killing people with its psychic power).
Rubber is absurd but a very unique piece of work.
