Review of Rebel Without a Cause (1955) by Thinker R — 15 Jun 2010
"Rebel Without a Cause" is an excellent film that compells, saddens, and occasionally amuses. It features outstanding performances by all three leads, especially the late James Dean, who sadly passed away a month before this came out.
Teenagers of any generation could easily identify with this film, what with the personal problems they go through during adolescence, and their being misunderstood by adults. It has a good story and sound score as well as some memorable scenes, such as the famous knife fight scene, the intense "chicky run" scene, and the conclusion.
However, this film moves a little slow at the beginning, and James Dean's character isn't really rebellious. He's just misunderstood.
