Review of Quatermass and the Pit (1967) by Michael D — 13 Jan 2008
This scared the absolute bejaysus out of me when I was a kid.
Watching it now - it's still a superb British Horror/SF that has dated surprisingly well. Aside from the very dodgy locust alien models the production values are actually very high - the destruction of London is really well rendered and of course the story is great and I think, still very compelling today. Intelligent script, well acted and a brilliant ending mark this one out as a cut above the usual B-monie standards of the time, on both sides of the Atlantic.
