Review of Prince of Darkness (1987) by Phil W — 08 Oct 2007
John Carpenter does it again after returning to his low-budget roots. Although it's a fraction too slow for some people, true Carpenter fans will still love it. I mean - it has Satan waiting to be released from his secret prison (and he's not even the biggest problem) - while people in the future send psychic dream-warnings of his imminent release.
Brilliant. Carpenter, as usual shows his mastery of nice camera work. And nice scoring. And nice writing. Best bit: ...and it wasn't all not a dream, or wasn't it? Was it?
