Review of Paris 36 (2008) by Lanre O — 05 Feb 2010
I was expecting this film to be happier than it actually was. It had a full circle, "in medias res" format: starting with the saddest moments first, then explaining what caused them to happen.
Everything seemed to be going well for the main characters (after everything seemed to be going wrong), and this makes the audience forget about the inevitable sadness towards the end (or the beginning).
Aside from the creative music and art direction, I felt mostly sad watching this. While I do own this film now, I'm not sure when - or if - I'd see it again.
