Review of Paris 36 (2008) by Bill B — 18 Oct 2009
Gorgeous looking film set around a North Paris theatre in 1936, where the members of a troupe find new life by putting on a show in the same theatre they used to be employed in before it was closed.
It's a typically 'French' film, in that there's an equal amount of misery liberally sprinkled throughout the overall uplifting moments, and well worth a look. I went in expecting a musical, but it's much more than that, just happens to have musical bits here or there.
Recommended.
