Review of The Illusionist (2009) by Lanre O — 03 Jun 2011

This is definitely not an animated film meant for kids. That being said, it is a little hard to follow for that reason. While slow-paced and lacking in dialogue, this film is still meaningful. The ending will definitely leave viewers saddened (and maybe a little disappointed that the story didn't continue further).

..but it goes to show that the protagonist is part of a dying breed of performers in need of trying new ways to entertain. Even though on-stage magic is simply a mere illusion, this film shows that the real magic is in how we live our lives - doing what we can with the time and resources we have available.
