Review of Ordet (1955) by Mike S — 24 Aug 2009
A movie that packs a heavy religious punch to your gut. If it wasn't for the message in the movie, I would have lowered the score by 20 or 30% points, but what it has to offer is something very powerful.
Say what you want about religion, but it's the single most powerful thing on this planet. It stirs up so much emotion and even starts wars within countries, individuals, and politicians. Either you can gain something from this movie or you can walk away and just not believe the message.
I will have to say, that I do believe the message it offers and I'm glad I got something out of it. It's not an easy movie to sit through, becuase it can be a bit boring at times, but you can't deny what it has to offer.
