Review of Ordet (1955) by Wezul S — 10 May 2014
It's impossible to take in during a single viewing so I know I'm going to need to watch it again down the road. I liked it but I have some specific misgivings about it that are less the fault of the film and more about my personal tastes and preferences.
Never the less it's a powerful, immense work of filmmaking, and one of the most beautifully shot films I have seen. Ever. The chiaroscuro is so strong that it may be the most colorful black and white film I've ever seen.
