Review of Old Acquaintance (1943) by Bob V — 24 Jul 2011
Film pairing dedicated enemies Bette Davis & Miriam Hopkins, which became famous because of the on-set antics & the vicious quarrels. Some of the vitriol is noticeable in the few confrontational scenes between the ladies, but since they spend most the film pretending to like each other, that's not a whole lot.
While not a bad film in any sense, it's only slightly better than the run-of-the-mill melodramas that were being churned out at rapid rates during this period.
