The haters can shut the f**k up, Mute is a solid dystopian sci-fi noir with oddball performances and palpable visuals. If you're a film geek rather than a critic, you should have no problem seeing past the indulgent runtime and muddled narrative to admire the deliberate lack of urgency that gives Mute its endearing hangout quality.
