A solid Coen brothers inspired down-home American crime noir filled with corky humor, cheeky violence, and dedicated performances. Michael Stuhlbarg in particular is the surprise standout in an impressive cast of veterans and heavyweights including: Liam Hemsworth, Billy Bob Thornton, John Malkovich, Oliver Platt, and Bruce Dern.
Cut Bank's derivative story might be reminiscent of better films like Fargo and Blood Simple, which can get a little tiresome after a while, but the twists and turns keep things as fun and engaging as Hell.
