Review of Mission Impossible (1971) by Jin T — 04 Aug 2015
I never thought I would end up watching Ethan Hunt's spy adventures until the month of August, 2015. It's not because Rogue Nation was in theaters but because I wanted to see what the movie versions are all about.
I've seen a few episodes of the old TV show but I can't remember about them. But of course I remember the awesome theme song that gets the situation intense. I've read about how there were going to bring the old crew from the TV show and involve with new people that will be in the movie but that didn't happen.
Still, this movie turn out to be pretty good and I've seen a couple of familiar faces besides Tom Cruise. Spy movies usually tend to go dark and edgy but this one was more adventurous. The way Ethan Hunt operates as a spy agent is something we've seen before but if you're like me, spy action films are always a plus for me.
The typical story where an agent is betrayed because there is an agent in the IMF that is double crossing. Stories like that has been written so many times but when I see it in this movie, it's pulled off quite well.
It'll keep you guessing who is really behind all this since the first incident. What I like about this movie is that Ethan Hunt is not someone to be trifle with and he's smarter than he looks.
