Review of Inside Out (2015) by Jin T — 29 Jan 2017
Some stories can be quite obvious when you read so much and have seen so many. This one is like it but like no other. Makes sense? No? Well, me neither. But this movie is just like that. It got me guessing and guessing when it should've been obvious. Maybe I was too immersed or maybe I was guessing things wrong. However, the story is truly wonderful after all.
You got the basic emotions for our heroine, Riley. Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger. With these guys, they create the emotions poured into Riley and expressions are made into perspective. You witness the struggle of Riley, especially when she becomes a teenager. It's where things really pick up the story. Don't get me wrong, the pace is just right. Only meant to say that halfway through the story, things go crazy and you hope that Joy and Sadness make things right after a bit of a mishap. While the other three are left behind at headquarters to deal with the rest of Riley's emotional standards. Suffice to say, everything isn't going too well.
Just when you think none of these emotions are not needed, you soon learn that you really do need them because that's what makes us human and that's how we make sweet and sour memories. If you think one is not liable than the other, then you're wrong. A lot of life lessons are presented here. Not just the characters like Riley and her parents and everyone else but even the characters in Riley's mind. They've all played a big part to her and the emotions she expresses. Even her imaginary friend, Bing Bong plays a huge role into the story.
Memories is a huge thing in the story. Whether it's sad, happy, anger, and other things, they are an essential part to any one of course. This movie is like a reminder that we humans are full of emotions and that we cherish them one way or the other. This certain family made movie is quite good and all the bundles of fun makes it all more interesting for everyone and especially for the kids.
Inside Out is literally inside and out. With lovable characters all around, a story that keeps you intact, it is a sure way to enjoy a movie with family and even with friends.
